Write it for meFor many Catholic families, faith is central to how they want a loved one remembered. Here's how to weave it in naturally.
Faith details to include
- Their parish and any ministries (choir, ushers, Knights of Columbus, altar society)
- That they received the sacraments, if the family wishes to mention it
- Opening phrases like "went home to the Lord" or "entered eternal life"
Service wording
Catholic services are often listed as a Vigil or Rosary the evening before, then a Mass of Christian Burial, then interment. List each with date, time and church or cemetery name.
Memorial donations
Families often request donations to the parish, a Catholic school, or Catholic Charities.
Example
Carmen Rosa Díaz, 88, a daily communicant at St. Michael the Archangel for more than fifty years, went home to the Lord on October 6, 2026. A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7 PM, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 AM…
Fictional example.
